Chargers 7-round NFL mock draft: Jim Harbaugh improves pass rush, gives Justin Herbert weapons, and finds a huge steal

The 2025 NFL Draft is just around the corner.
Jim Harbaugh is getting all of his ducks in a row to improve the Los Angeles Chargers roster.
I ran through a seven-round mock draft scenario for the Chargers this week.
Check out the extended breakdown below.
Los Angeles Chargers 7-round NFL mock draft Round 1, Pick 22: Derrick Harmon, DL, Oregon I'm personally a big fan of Harmon, and I think Harbaugh will be as well.
He runs a hot motor throughout every game of his college career and is one of the most gifted interior pass rushers in the class.
In fact, that part of his game may be the most polished of any IDL prospect.
For the Chargers, they lost DT Poona Ford during free agency.
Otito Ogbonnia has flashed recently inside, but they should not solely rely on him as a starter next season.
Harmon would immediately slot in as a day one producer for their defense.
Derrick Harmon is my IDL#2 and #20 on my big board (subject to change) Most pressures by a DT in CFB with 55, 2nd in pressure rate by a DT (10.7%), 5 sacks & 10.5 TFLs.
He does absurd things for a man that size, one of the best motors in the draft.
All-around, im a big fan.
pic.twitter.com/XZemci4bff Round 2, Pick 55: Mason Taylor, TE, LSU Get Justin Herbert some help! Taylor has tested out of his mind in recent weeks, and his tape has aged quite well for this tight end class.
Taylor is a smooth mover and an impressive athlete at the TE position.
I would be really excited to see Herbert push the football down the field to Taylor, and I preferred him to some of the WR options at this spot.
Adding Tyler Conklin in free agency should not prevent LA from assessing the TE position sometime early in this year's draft.
I like Mason Taylor as a flex TE a fair bit.
Good fluidity for his size and understands how to run routes to create separation.
Makes some nice out-of-frame catches, too.
Reminds me of Tyler Higbee.

We all know that Jim Harbaugh loves that, and Parrish plays with it.
The smaller defensive back plays with urgency and grit.
He projects as a nickel defender, but I won't be shocked to see him get some outside reps at the pro level, depending on his landing spot, too.
Jacob Parrish has nickel/outside corner flexibility.
Really like his skill set and a guy that can play multiple roles in a secondary.

Won't surprise me if the Chargers address edge even earlier than this, but they waited in this scenario.
Sorrell has a projectable NFL frame and really came on in the second half of last season for Texas.
Nice athlete at his size, too.
#88 Barryn Sorrell 64 and 265 lbs going stride for stride with preseason All-Big 12 RB Devin Neal is pretty impressive.
pic.twitter.com/mOeTAlLW4B Round 5, Pick 158: Luke Kandra, IOL, Cincinnati The offensive line need more depth in Los Angeles.
Kandra is a guard prospect with good athletic upside.
He was impressive in the run game last season, and he flashes in pass protection as well.
I still cannot understand why the majority of the draft community is sleeping on Luke Kandra @luke_kandra .
He put up stellar numbers for testing, is a mauler on the trenches, and plays every snap through the whistle.
pic.twitter.com/eCj4jovcX6 Round 6, Pick 181: Pat Bryant, WR, Illinois Bryant is one of the few projectable outside wideouts in this WR class.
At his size, he can lineup as an "X" in an offense.
I like his plays on the ball in the air, and he uses his height to his advantage consistently.
Mike Williams is back, but Bryant could see more snaps than him in year one.
This value is an absolute steal - considering his potential in an offense like LA's.
One guy who grows on me more every time I watch him is #Illinois WR Pat Bryant With good size (62, 204 lbs), great ball skills, and clever releases, I like him as a jack of all trades type of wideout : Here are some All-22 highlights from his 197-yd game vs Rutgers pic.twitter.com/osBUmxOGsl Round 6, Pick 199: Brashard Smith , RB, SMU Smith is a former wide receiver, and it shows on tape.
He can be a third-down option for Los Angeles behind Najee Harris at the RB position.
Round 6, Pick 209: Jamon Dumas-Johnson Round 6, Pick 214: Tyler Baty, EDGE, BYU Round 7, Pick 256: John Williams, OT, Cincinnati What do you think of this Chargers mock draft? Let us know on social media! This article first appeared on A to Z Sports and was syndicated with permission..
