One of the greatest players to ever come through the Alabama Crimson Tide football program officially announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday, as wide receiver Julio Jones hung up his cleats for the final time.A multi-year starter at Alabama from 2008-10, Jones came to Tuscaloosa as one of the biggest recruits in program history, and went on to leave the Crimson Tide among the most impactful players from the Nick Saban era overall.
This included over 2,500+ receiving yards and 15 touchdowns over his three seasons at Alabama, as well as one national championship with the Crimson Tide in 2009.Jones then went on to be selected in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons, going on to have a phenomenal 10 seasons in the organization that featured over 12,000+ receiving yards, 60 touchdowns, seven Pro Bowl appearances, and two First Team All-Pro selections.
The former Alabama star also saw time with the Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Philadelphia Eagles later in his career, playing 13 seasons in all from 2011-23 in which he amassed over 13,000+ receiving yards across 166 games.
