Twin Falls baseball extends win streak to 9, sweeps Canyon Ridge

Twin Falls pitcher Kentyn Ketterling feels the same way every time he steps on the mound.
A proverbial large target on the back of his uniform.
A giant TF, Ketterling told the Times-News .
A target every squad in the Magic Valley hunts as the Bruins seek their 10th Great Basin Conference title in the past 11 seasons.
Ketterling, thanks to a one-hit complete game, powered Twin Falls to their eighth and ninth straight wins with a doubleheader sweep against Canyon Ridge on Friday at Twin Falls Bill Ingram Field.

Canyon Ridge's Kennan Huettig catches a pop-fly during their game Friday, April 4, 2025, at Bill Ingram Field in Twin Falls.
They (opponents) want to come out and put us down but we are going to grind out even if we have our target on our back, Ketterling said.
The Bruins have outscored opponents 116-26 in the past nine contests.
All after an 0-3 start.
Now the Bruins find themselves in a familiar situation right in charge of GBC championship contention.
We show a lot of respect to them over there at Canyon Ridge, Bruins head coach Tim Stadelmeir told the Times-News .
But our goal is to really look at what we are doing.
It doesnt matter who we play.
We are competing against ourself.
We are trying to be perfect and try to play the game the right way.
We are taking a lot of strides.
Ketterling paced Twin Falls on the mound in game one with four strikeouts and a walk.
Throwing strikes, he said.
Fastballs getting on them.
Bringing a lot of confidence to me and our team.
Kinda helped out a lot.
What began as a pitchers duel between Ketterling and Canyon Ridges Grant Hales turned sideways, thanks to five Twin Falls runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Ketterling boasted a no-hitter until the sixth inning when Hales singled.

Maddox Stadelmeir and Slade Fisher led Twin Falls with two hits each while Cooper Thompson and Treyson Walker added one.
Thompson, a College of Southern Idaho commit, made things 9-0 in the sixth with an RBI triple.
It has been a crazy senior year since I broke my (right) leg playing football, Thompson told the Times-News .
So it took a lot of work to get back and now it is just having fun out there with my teammates.
Hopefully seeing how far we can go.
Hales went 5 1/3 innings as he allowed five hits, eight runs (five earned) and three walks.
He struck out four.
Kohyn Barnes faced six batters as he allowed one hits, one earned run and three walks.
Twin Falls broke open a 1-1 tie in game two thanks to seven runs in the third inning.
Each squad logged two runs in the fourth inning.
Maddox Stadelmeir ended things early with a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth.
I think everyone is just super confident, Thompson said.
So when they are confident, they go up there and they have good approaches at the plate.
That has just been helping us throughout the year.
Young guys have been stepping up a lot.
Kennan Huettig, Barnes, Jaxon Wheeler and Hales led Canyon Ridge with a hit in game two.
