Diamondbacks and 12News partnership to bring games to viewers

PHOENIX Ahead of the 2025 baseball season, the Arizona Diamondbacks and 12News have announced a partnership that will bring 10 Diamondbacks games to 12News (KPNX).

The Friday night games airing on 12News will start on April 25 when the Diamondbacks host the Atlanta Braves.

RELATED: Zac Gallen named 2025 Opening Day starter for D-backs The partnership represents the first time in Diamondbacks history that a series of games will be televised on a local network affiliate, providing free, over-the-air access to fans.

There is always a thrill with the return of baseball, and to be able to extend that excitement to even more fans through this historic partnership with TEGNAs 12News is very special for our organization, said Derrick Hall, Diamondbacks President, CEO & General Partner.

This model allows a larger audience of fans to watch a sampling of our regular season, which enhances our distribution and strong existing partnerships with our pay TV partners where fans can get access to the full regular season.

We cannot wait to bring our shared passion to a whole new audience and offer these viewers the opportunity to indulge in D-backs baseball on 12News.

The full line-up of simulcast games includes April 25 vs.

Dodgers, May 30 vs.

Nationals, June 27 vs.

Marlins, July 4 vs.

Royals, July 18 vs.

Cardinals, August 8 vs.

Rockies, August 22 vs.

Reds, September 5 vs.

Red Sox and September 19 vs.

Phillies.

This historic partnership not only expands access to live baseball across the regionit also gives us the opportunity to tell the stories behind the team through our new D-backs on Deck coverage.

Its a powerful collaboration between two hometown institutions, united by a passion for Arizona and the people who call it home.

Before each game, 12News will air a special one-hour gameday show called "D-backs on Deck." The show, led by sports anchors and reporters Cameron Cox, Lina Washington and Jake Garcia, will deliver in-depth analysis, behind-the-scenes coverage and interviews with team guests.

D-backs on Deck will debut on March 27, as part of the station's Opening Day takeover from 6 a.m.

through first pitch.

Arizona sports The city of Phoenix is home to five major professional sports league teams; The NFL's Arizona Cardinals, NBA's Phoenix Suns, WNBAs Phoenix Mercury and MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Cardinals have made State Farm Stadium in Glendale their home turf and the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix is home to both the Suns and the Mercury.

The Indoor Football Leagues Arizona Rattlers play at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale.

Phoenix also has a soccer team with the USL's Phoenix Rising FC, who play at Phoenix Rising FC Stadium in Phoenix.
