LaGrange College hires new women’s basketball coach

Steve Kenner has been named new Head Coach for the LaGrange College Womens Basketball program.
Kenner currently serves as Director of the Panther Academic Center for Excellence (PACE) at the college.Im excited and its an incredible honor to step into the Womens Basketball head coachingposition here at LaGrange College, Kenner said.
Having served as the Director of PACE andCoordinator of Accessibility Services for the past several years, Ive had the privilege ofsupporting our student-athletes academically and socially through academic coaching andmentoring.Kenner is no stranger to the world of collegiate basketball, having served in 12 differentcoaching roles from 1999-2023 in DI, DII and DIII.
His experience is highlighted by headcoaching stints at Emory & Henry College (2009-11), Southeastern Illinois College (2017-19),Pratt Community College (2020-21) and most recently at Auburn University at Montgomery(2021-23).I look forward to continue developing the students mindset on the court, Kenner said.
Mygoal is to cultivate a healthy, positive environment that fosters personal growth and a strongconnection with the community while ensuring a meaningful experience for our student-athletesduring their time here at LaGrange College.Former LC Football head coach and current Interim Athletic Director Steve Pardue expressed hisconfidence in the team and Kenner.
We are very excited to have someone with Kenner'sexperience lead our basketball program, he said.
Without a doubt, I think he will do a greatjob.The Panthers new head coach will begin his duties effective immediately.
