The Best Shot, presented by Toyota, is a 10-week basketball league implemented in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.

Participants are between the ages of 10 and 12 years old.Last week, for Boys and Girls Club members participating in the league, the Rockets and Toyota hosted a basketball tournament.

Held inside the team's home NBA arena of Toyota Center, the tournament featured a single elimination format culminating with the crowning of a 2024-25 season champion.

Veteran NBA forward Jae'Sean Tate, now in his fifth season with the Rockets, was on hand for the event.

Regarding the opportunity, he said:I grew up in the Boys and Girls Club, so I can relate to the kids.

They're at the age where having fun is the most important thing.

This is just a great experience.

Them being able to have an opportunity like this is once in a lifetime.

They get to be able to share a court that we play on, as NBA players.

It's a dream come true for them, and I'm just appreciative to be a part of it.Video and photo footage of the event, which was also attended by team mascot Clutch the Bear and supported by staffers and executives throughout the organization, is available below."Any time the Rockets are able to join in on the community, I'm always there, because that's what it's all about," Tate said.

"It's about the kids.

I'm just thankful to be a part of it."View this post on InstagramA post shared by Houston Rockets (@houstonrockets)More: Ime Udoka on 2024-25 Houston Rockets: Deepest team Ive hadView this post on InstagramA post shared by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston (@bgchouston)This article originally appeared on Rockets Wire: Rockets, JaeSean Tate host hoops tournament for Boys & Girls Club.
