Angel Reese's net worth truth, $8,000-a-month apartment, Caitlin Clark relationship

Angel Reese is even further in the black after getting her hands on the inaugural Unrivaled championship.
Although that's perhaps unfortunate wording given it was a hand injury that kept the Rose star out of Monday's final win over the Vinyl.
Head coach Nola Henry's remaining stars had enough in the locker to clinch a 62-54 victory in the 3-on-3 decider, where a Brittney Sykes and-1 played a crucial role in the result.
And it means former LSU standout Reese is $50,000 richer despite not taking part in the main event.
If the Chicago Sky star is to be believed, that prize money will go a long way to supplementing the WNBA rookie salary she has decried on more than one occasion.
And The Mirror US breaks down her own admissions regarding her net worth, eye-watering rental costs and relationship with rival Caitlin Clark as the 2025 WNBA season moves within reach.
It's no secret by now that Reese isn't entirely content with her WNBA earnings, to say the least.
The pinnacle of women's basketball is well known to pay its players only a fraction of what their male counterparts receive - rookie's receive a $76,500 salary - though that appears to be changing for the better following an influx of interest in the women's league.
Amid speculation that her net worth sits at somewhere around the $2million mark, Reese told host Speedy Morman in November this is categorically not the case.
When asked if the figure was accurate, the 22-year-old said it is "way off" what she's actually worth and appeared to imply the real figure is substantially more.
"Im able to soon retire my mom, I can pay off my mortgage, my family, everybodys taken care of," she said at ComplexCon in Las Vegas.
"One thing about me, I have a really good circle around me, and I think thats really important." While that may be the case, it didn't prevent Reese taking another jab at her WNBA earnings in the wake of Monday's Unrivaled success.
She took to X and wrote "50K NEED DATTTTT" in reference to her needing all the help she can get, which prompted a response from the Indiana Fever 's Sydney Colson, who said she was on hand if Reese "needs to get rid of 50k." "Hey sista.
Im doing well.
Just won 50k on a flight," Reese wrote in response.
"I know you are VERY aware and Im sorry to break it to you but Im on a rookie contract and that 50k was a little more than half of my contract, so I have to keep that to myself.
.
.sorry.
Give me a few years and I gotchu (sic).
Be well." Speaking of Reese's finances , one expenditure that could evidently be cut down in order to save some pennies is her rent.
That's after the Maryland native revealed the agonising four-figure sum she forks out every month to keep her pad.
While many around the WNBA have to scrimp and save to juggle their careers and thrive off the court, it's apparent Reese is hardly struggling.
And she opened up about exactly how much she pays in rent while bragging that any negative attention she receives is a help and not a hindrance.
"Hating pays my bills, baby," she said in a video post back in October.
"The WNBA doesnt pay my bills at all.
I dont even think that pays one of my bills.
"Literally, Im trying to think of my rent for where I stay at.
Im gonna do the math real quick.
I dont even know my [WNBA] salary.
I'm living beyond my means.
My rent is more than that, it's $8,000." That works out to roughly five times the average rent in the United States, which is estimated to be around $1,600.
Not that it translated to success on the court as Reese's Chicago team missed out on the WNBA play-offs for the first time since 2018.
Reese has made a point of flaunting her wealth since making it to the big leagues.
Along with her Louis Vuitton bags and expensive home design, she also owns a $183,000 Mercedes G-Wagon she bought upon signing for the Sky last year.
The rivalry between Reese and Clark dates back to their days as middle school adversaries, though the world wasn't really put on alert until they met in college.
Reese has been seen taunting Clark on the court after winning an NCAA title - something Clark never won - in 2023, while she has also spoken out that people aren't solely watching the WNBA because of one woman.
On the other hand, she has made efforts to downplay any notion of a feud between the pair since then.
And it was only a few months ago that she gave some additional background on their relationship, insisting it's strictly business when it comes down to it.
"I think it's just competition and competition since college," she told Complex in November.
"I've been playing against Caitlin since we were probably in eighth or ninth grade.
"We were both really competitive.
I went to Maryland, she went to Iowa and we competed there, so people don't know the legacy of us being able to play against each other for a really long time." Reese went on to highlight the impact the public and social media have had in exaggerating any rivalry.
However, she also described this as a good thing given the spotlight it has put on women's basketball.
"I don't have any hard feelings toward her and she doesn't have any hard feelings towards me," she added.
"It's just basketball, and it gets crazy sometimes.".
