‘Style it like the pros’ – Deion Sanders begs NCAA to make major rule change to follow NFL lead

DEION Sanders has begged the NCAA to follow the lead of the NFL in a major rule change. The NFL legend, who is the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, wants the student athletics organisation to allow programs to practice and scrimmage against others team in the spring.APDeion Sanders wants a major rule change in the NCAA that is allowed in the NFL[/caption]Sanders said: I would actually like to play the spring game against another team, in the spring.
Thats what Im trying to do right now.The Dallas Cowboys icon, 57, also announced that the Buffaloes spring game at Folsom Field will be televised on ESPN on April 19.He continued: I would like to style it like the pros.
Id like to go against someone [in practice] for a few days, and then you have the spring game.I think the public would be satisfied with that tremendously.
I think its a tremendous idea.
Ive told those personnel, who should understand that, that its a tremendous idea.According to current bylaws of the NCAA, college football teams cannot play against other schools in the spring. While in the NFL, teams can take part in joint practices with other teams for a week in the build-up to an exhibition match between them.So far, Nebraska, Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma and USC are all on board with the change.Sanders said: The way the trend is going, is you never know if this is going to be the last spring game.
Now, I dont believe in that, and I dont really want to condone that.
To have it competitive, and to play against your own guys, it can get kind of monotonous, and you really cant tell the level of your guys.Sanders added that he doesnt believe theres a threat from other programs possibly luring players away during the transfer portal after impressing in spring games.Sanders said: Everybodys moving to stop spring games, I dont know why.Youre not going to stop nobody from leaving your program by not having a spring game.
If you want to save money, just say that. The kids already gone.
They already reached out and contacted somebody else.
Theyre already gone..
