Carson Beck's transition from Georgia to Miami has been anything but typicaland he hasnt even taken the field yet.

Now, an unnamed NFL scout is questioning the move, calling it a major red flag for Becks future at the next level.

In an interview with Georgia Bulldog on SI , the scout raised concerns about Beck's decision to transfer rather than enter the 2025 NFL Draft.

"(Carson) Beck, either by Kirby (Smart) letting him go, or choosing to go, either way is a big red flag.

It certainly hurts him with us.

He didn't leave in order to win, play against better competition, or get better coaching.

A bad look for him.

That makes no sense and makes you wonder a lot about a lot," the scout said.

Becks departure from Georgia raised eyebrows but wasnt entirely shocking.

He entered the 2024 season as a potential first-round pick, but inconsistencyboth in his performance and Georgias overall playcast doubts on his NFL future.

Initially, Beck announced his intention to enter the 2025 NFL Draft before pivoting and transferring to Miami instead.

The move seemed to be motivated by several factors, including a chance to improve his draft stock with another year in college and the opportunity to be closer to his then-girlfriend , Miami women's basketball player and TikTok personality Hanna Cavinder.

However, their relationship now appears to have ended.

While Beck remains Miamis projected starter for next season, his transition has been far from smooth.

He has yet to throw a pass in spring practice as he continues to recover from UCL surgery in his throwing arm, an injury sustained in the SEC Championship Game against Texas.

Despite this, most indications point to him being cleared in time for Miamis home opener against Notre Dame on August 31.

Meanwhile, Georgia is moving forward with Gunner Stockton as its new starting quarterback.

Stockton made his first start in Georgias College Football Playoff quarterfinal loss to Notre Dame and is expected to lead the Bulldogs in 2025.

Ultimately, both parties could end up benefiting from the split.

If Beck thrives in Miami the way Cam Ward did after transferring from Washington State, scouts may quickly change their tune on his NFL potential.
