Week 4 of the college football season brought late-night chaos, a never-before-seen final score and a spicy Texas rivalry that ended with The CW (yes, the TV network) throwing shade.
If you fell asleep before the final whistle of the Colorado-Baylor game that had fans across the country gasping at every play of the drive that forced overtime or missed BYUs winding 90-yard punt return that stunned Kansas State , weve got you covered.

Sizzling hot Iron Skillet The SMU -TCU series is not scheduled to continue past next season ...
so maybe thats why this years game felt extra heated.
For starters, TCU turned the temperature up Friday by posting a pregame video on X taking a dig at the games broadcaster, The CW, and the ACC.
The CW secured broadcast rights for 50 ACC college football and basketball games each season through 2026-27 in July 2023.
TCUs video was titled one treefrog hill seemingly a jab at one of the dramas the network is most well-known for (One Tree Hill) over sportscasting.
This is SportsCenter.
Well ...
This is CW unfortunately.
Thanks ACC, the TCU video reads at the end.
frogs on the cw, unfortunately.

The ACC posted the SMU 66, TCU 42 final score on X with the caption, Thanks for tuning in to watch @SMUFB dominate on the CW after the game.
The CW came back with a video of the final score to Paula Coles I Dont Want to Wait, the same song TCU used in the original post.
pic.twitter.com/lSKr1Dl1OP The CW (@TheCW) September 22, 2024 Adding to the drama, TCU coach Sonny Dykes, who was the Mustangs coach from 2018 to 2021, was ejected less than one minute into the second half after being called for two consecutive unsportsmanlike penalties .
The biggest takeaway: We hope this rivalry gets renewed for years to come.
GO DEEPER Until Saturday: Arch Manning's first start, plus CFB contenders and pretenders Scorigami! In a 70-50 victory over North Carolina , James Madison did most of its damage in the first half by racking up 53 points.
But the Dukes added 17 points in the second half to be on the winning side of the 2,344th unique score in college football history, per an account on X that tracks all original scores ever recorded in the sport.

Both teams surpassed 600 yards of total offense, but North Carolina was plagued by turnovers.
The Tar Heels lost three fumbles, and QB Jacolby Criswell threw two interceptions (and JMU blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown).
Advertisement Risk it for the biscuit Before Marshall traveled to Columbus to take on Ohio State , coach Charles Huff tried to lure some of the Buckeyes players to his Herd with a promise of endless biscuits.
Marshall has a partnership with restaurant chain Tudors Biscuit World that provides players with all-you-can-eat biscuits, and Huff wasnt shy about flaunting it as a cheeky recruiting ploy.
If any of those guys that run really, really fast at Ohio State like Tudors biscuits, I promise you, all you can eat, all day if you transfer here, he said.

It includes a piece of sausage, an egg, a hash brown and a slice of cheese stuffed between two pieces of a large biscuit.
Football weather When those two teams met on the field Saturday, Ohio States Jayden Fielding sent three consecutive kickoffs out of bounds for penalties in the second quarter and appeared to plead his case on the wind affecting those misfires to coach Ryan Day.
Day didnt appear to buy it and benched Fielding for the second half.
Ryan Days reaction to Jayden Fielding blaming the wind is incredible https://t.co/So5lSVIBiB Cameron Teague (@cj_teague) September 21, 2024 Per the games official stats, the weather in Columbus was sunny, 85 degrees with 5 mph winds out of the west as Ohio State beat Marshall 49-14 .
The greatest punt return ever? In a classic Big 12 After Dark matchup, BYU was in control the entire time against No.
13 Kansas State .
The Wildcats shortcomings were especially exposed in a 90-yard punt return touchdown from BYUs Parker Kingston in the third quarter.
Kingston muffed the punt around the 20-yard line near the Kansas State sideline before picking up the ball at the 10 and running all the way across the field to the BYU sideline.
Once he completed the huge curve, the sophomore turned on the jets to sprint downfield for a score.

Heads-up catch In the first quarter of Utah s game against Oklahoma State , Utes wide receiver Dorian Singer , formerly of Arizona (2021-22) and USC (2023), secured a 6-yard pass by pinning the ball against the back of his helmet and somehow holding on.
Singers grab was confirmed after review, and he finished with a game-high seven receptions for 95 yards in the Utes 22-19 win.

Trailing 31-24, Sanders had attempted a Hail Mary on the prior play, but Will Sheppard dropped the pass.
With only two seconds left in regulation, Sanders heaved another strike toward the end zone and found LaJohntay Wester , who caught the ball for a touchdown while sliding on the rain-soaked turf.

Football Oregon State linebacker Zakaih Saez put the Beavers on the board against Purdue by returning an interception for a 20-yard touchdown ...
but it wasnt your typical pick.
Purdue quarterback Hudson Card attempted a quick pass to running back Reggie Love, but it deflected off Loves foot and landed in the hands of Saez.
CFB 25 is too unrealistic College Football irl: pic.twitter.com/XoQvA2x3cZ Unnecessary Roughness (@UnnecRoughness) September 22, 2024 Double fumble USC hurt itself many times in its 27-24 loss to Michigan .
In one instance, the Trojans had a third-and-goal, but quarterback Miller Moss was sacked and fumbled the ball before Michigan lineman Kenneth Grant recovered it.
Grant ran with the ball for 20 yards before USCs Woody Marks stripped it out of his hands.
