[Hollands new contract] is expected to eclipse $15 million maybe close to $20 million a year, Wolfe said on NFL Networks The Insiders.
That may be a little rich for the Dolphins blood, but well keep an eye on how this evolves in the days ahead.
A couple of teams, the Titans and the Panthers, are potentially in the mix for him.
Six safeties currently average more than $15 million annually .
Antoine Winfield Jr.
is the only safety averaging over $20 million per year after signing a four-year contract extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last offseason.
Holland has had some inconsistencies with the Dolphins, but its rare for a 25-year-old ascending safety to hit free agency.
While a growing salary cap opens the door for a major payday, Miami lacks the space to sign him and address a range of roster issues.
The NFLs legal tampering period begins at noon ET on March 10.
The new league year and the official start of free agency begins at 4 p.m.
on March 12..
