No. 5 Nebraska volleyball dominates with its serving, sweeps No. 4 Louisville

Harper Murray had 11 kills, Merritt Beason added nine and fifth-ranked Nebraska swept No.

4 Louisville 25-16, 25-17, 25-20 on Sunday.

For long stretches of the match, Nebraska dominated the match with its serving, keeping Louisville from running its offense at full potential.

Nebraska led in ace serves, 7-0.

There was a school-record crowd of 14,126 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Playing one of the most challenging nonconference schedules in school history with five ranked opponents, Nebraska finished 10-1 in nonconference play.

Later this week, Nebraska will begin 10 weeks of Big Ten matches.

The Huskers host UCLA on Friday.

For Nebraska, it was an impressive sweep against a Louisville team that entered with a 4-1 record against Top 15 ranked teams.

Nebraska had a .305 hitting percentage and held Louisville to .133 hitting.

The win included an impressive finish on the road.

With the third set tied at 16, Nebraska won four straight points and finished off the sweep.

Lindsay Krause had a career-best four ace serves, one more than her career best.

Krause was a game-changer in the first set when she served a 7-0 run that gave Nebraska a 16-8 lead.

Nebraska had a great start to the match with just one hitting error over 25 attempts with a .360 hitting percentage.

Louisville had 10 hitting errors and hit .105.

Krause also helped Nebraska have a great start in the second set when she had three straight ace serves for a 5-2 lead.

Anna DeBeer led Louisville with 12 kills on .308 hitting.
