OU Football Hires Jim Nagy as General Manager

The Oklahoma Sooners made their biggest hire aside from head coach.

OU named Jim Nagy as new General Manager of the program.Nagy has lived a football spending 18 years as an NFL scout.

His teams he scouted for participated in six Super Bowls winning four.

Most recently Nagy was the Executive Director of the Reese's Senior Bowl.Nagy will work side by side with head coach Brent Venables on roster building, player retention, and compensation.

"This is a new era in intercollegiate athletics at one of the greatest college football programs in the country," said Nagy in OU's release.

"The legacy of excellence that precedes my arrival is a testament to the leadership at OU and the university's commitment to execute at a championship level.

I am honored to bring my experience and work ethic to this program and am confident that through collaboration and effort, we can achieve excellent results.

I am truly excited to get to Norman and begin our process with Coach Venables and his great staff."In addition to his duties as a GM, Nagy will manage the impact of rules governing name, image, likeness, the transfer portal process, revenue sharing allocation, scholarship limits and and eligibility requirements.Nagy replaces Curtis Lofton who left the position to pursue a career in ministry..
