Arch Manning earning more than double average NFL salary after latest huge NIL deal

Arch Manning has inked a mammoth deal with Uber , which means the Texas quarterback leads the NIL standings and earns over double the average NFL salary.
During the 2024 college football season, Longhorns starter Quinn Ewers battled through injury and struggled with form.
This opened the door for Manning , whose performances, popularity, and last name put pressure on Ewers.
Mannings dual-threat ability adds another layer to the Texas offense, but head coach Steve Sarkisian resisted calls to insert him in the lineup permanently.
With Ewers heading to the pros in the 2025 NFL Draft , Manning - who completed 61-for-90 passes for 939 yards and nine touchdowns with two interceptions and four rushing touchdowns in 2024 - is now set to lead Texas into a new era .
Entering his third season with Texas, Manning has secured another NIL deal - and its with transportation giant Uber.
The deal means, according to On3, Manning has an NIL value of $6.5 million, leading all college sports stars - even ahead of Duke basketball star Cooper Flagg.
The On3 NIL Valuation is the leading index that determines the projected annual value (PAV) of college and high school athletes by combining Roster Value and NIL Value.
Using a proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation establishes a value that allows athletes, schools, and brands to negotiate roster contracts and marketing opportunities more effectively - and Manning is leading the way.
For the 2024 season, the average NFL salary was around $3.2 million.
Since NFL teams require a 53-man minimum roster, massive amounts of money go toward a players budget, and quarterbacks typically earn multi-year contracts for millions of dollars a year.
This leaves the median base salary of an NFL player is $860,000 per year.
But this is a fraction of what Manning is set to earn this year.
Manning appeared in a promotional video for Uber with his dad Cooper and grandfather Archie in a Waymo, a driverless ride-sharing vehicle that recently launched in Austin.
The two veterans joked with the 19-year-old.
Arch, do you Uber to class? Cooper said.
Because I notice you get a lot of parking tickets.
You must be driving somewhere.
Tickets are brutal around campus, so I think Uber is the way to go, Arch said.
Archie added: Ive just been a couple of blocks but it drives a lot better than Arch did last night coming from the airport.
Uber and the University of Texas have been connected in other ways recently; Hollywood star and Texas fan Matthew McConaughey recently appeared in a Super Bowl ad for Uber Eats.
Perhaps McConaughey and Manning will link up for Uber at some point in the future..
