College football to the WWE? During this years bowl season, a game between Jacksonville State and Ohio featured an interesting segment about Gamecocks receiver Brock Rechsteiner and his potential future in the WWE.
ESPN caught up with some of his family members from the world of professional wrestling: his father, Scott Steiner, and his cousin, Bron Breakker.
Speaking with the broadcast crew, Steiner spoke about his sons future in professional wrestling, and how theyre looking to tackle the sport he knows so well when he finally hangs up his cleats with Jacksonville State.
Thats the plan.
Thats what he wants to do, Steiner said, regarding Rechsteiners wrestling prospects.
Whatever makes him happy.
....
Hell be a Steiner.
So that helps out.
But hes a good athlete.
The sky is the limit for him.
...
When the times right, Ill help him any time I can.
...
Im happy for him.
Watching him fulfill his athletic dreams.
Once football is over, hell do it with wrestling.
Football has translated well to the wrestling world in the past.
Roman Reigns, whos arguably the biggest name in the WWE at the moment, was a star at Georgia Tech as a defensive lineman.
The aforementioned Breakker, Rechsteiners cousin, was a running back at Kent State , as well.
But whats going to lead Rechsteiner to success in professional wrestling? Steiner put it plainly: Be a genetic freak like myself, he joked.
It takes a lot of work.
I did it for like, 25 years.
So it takes awhile.
Hell be good.
