The Cleveland Browns currently hold the No.

2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

It will be their highest selection in five years and their first first-round pick since 2021.

The big question now is: what will they do with it? Cleveland hasnt had a first-round pick in three years due to the blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans for quarterback Deshaun Watson .

Given recent results, its clear that move has been a massive failure, leaving the Browns once again searching for a franchise quarterbacksomething that has eluded them for decades.

Holding the No.

2 pick puts them in prime position to select either Miamis Cam Ward or Colorados Shedeur Sanders, the top two projected quarterbacks in this years draft class.

But even the Browns may not be fully sold on this years group of signal-callers.

In a recent mock draft from The 33rd Team s Sam Monson and Steve Palazzolo , Cleveland bypasses a quarterback entirely and selects Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter , with Ward going first overall to the Tennessee Titans.

Their reasoning? Hunters rare ability to excel on both sides of the ball.

Palazzolo credited Monson for his unique take, arguing that Hunters versatility significantly reduces his bust potential.

"His bust potential is half of what it would be for any other top-tier player," Monson said.

"So why would you not draft a wide receiver or cornerback in the top five, right, generally? Potentially, because those positions have reasonably high bust rates for those peak position guys.

Well, that risk gets halved if you have Travis Hunter, where you go, 'Okay, if it doesn't work out for the first year, year and a half, and it looks like he's clearly not going to be that guy, we just flip him to the other side of the ball to see if he works well there.'" Honestly, this might be the move for the Browns, who cannot afford another top-tier bustespecially at quarterback.

With Hunters rare two-way ability, Cleveland, in a sense, would be giving itself two chances to get it right.

That might be something even the Browns couldnt mess up.

As for their quarterback situation, the Browns are considered one of the top contenders to either trade for or wait on the Atlanta Falcons to release Kirk Cousins.

That would provide them with a short-term solution at the position while they continue searching for their long-term answer..
