The Memphis Grizzlies had a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter against the Atlanta Hawks .

Five minutes and one Caris LeVert surge later, the Grizzlies had their third-straight last-second loss.

He had 16 of his 25 points in the final nine minutes of the game, including 14 of the Hawks' final 16 points in the 132-130 win.

He's averaging 17.8 points since coming over to the Hawks in the trade that sent De'Andre Hunter to the Cleveland Cavaliers, up from 10.2 points per game in Cleveland.

On a night where Trae Young shot 5-for-17, albeit with 15 assists, the Hawks needed every one of LeVert's points.

It was another last-second loss for the Grizzlies, who have dropped to fourth place in the Western Conference.

Saturday, De'Aaron Fox's jumper with two seconds left gave the San Antonio Spurs a 130-128 win.

Or a few days, since the Grizzlies took down the Phoenix Suns, 151-148, on Wednesday, thanks to Ja Morant's own last-minute heroics .

It let the Spurs and Hawks, both with losing records, hang around.

The Grizzlies' last six games have been determined by a total of 15 points, and they're 2-4.

In their last 10 games, their only two wins are against the reeling Suns.

The reason is that the Grizzlies can't get stops at the end of games.

Or at the beginning of games, or in the middle of games.

For the last 10 games, they've given up 125.6 points per game, the worst mark in the NBA over that stretch.

It's hard to prevent game-winners when a team is allowing opponents to shoot over 50%, like Memphis has recently.

LeVert was huge Monday night.

But he got some help from a Grizzlies defense that's falling apart at the worst time.
