Bill Belichick shares 2024 NFL Dream Team and risks wrath of fans

UNC football head coach and all-time NFL great Bill Belichick proves he still has his finger on the pulse of the league despite taking a college job for this season .
The Super Bowl-winning legend released his list of the best players from the 2024 NFL season on a paper entitled the "2024 All Belichick Team," which saw NFL fans call for his immediate NFL return .
The eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach shared his handwritten list on Instagram in a joint post with Michael Lombardi.
Lombardi currently serves as UNC's GM and previously worked with Belichick as an assistant with the Patriots.
Belichick captioned the post , "On Valentine's Day, there is usually a lot of love in the air.
30 years ago today, there was not a lot of love in Cleveland when Art Modell decided to move the team and leave me behind.
I am not sure if anyone then would've cared about my All-Belichick Team," he continued.
"I'm not sure if anyone even cares now.
But here it is." At quarterback, Belichick dismissed Patrick Mahomes and highlighted Buffalo Bills star and regular-season MVP Josh Allen as his starter, with Baltimore Ravens two-time MVP Lamar Jackson as the team's backup.
The ex-Patriots leader's backfield featured a blend of muscle and light's out speed, with offensive player of the year Saquon Barkley earning the starting nod , Jahmyr Gibbs and Derrick Henry as backup options, and Patrick Ricard and Kyle Juszczyk sharing fullback duties.
Washington Commanders pass catcher Terry McLaurin got the top nod at wide receiver, supported by triple-crown winner Ja'Marr Chase and Giants breakout rookie Malik Nabers.
The second wideout spot went to Minnesota Vikings superstar Justin Jefferson , with Brian Thomas Jr.
and CeeDee Lamb finishing the depth chart.

Brown was Belichick's first choice for slot receiver due to his precise route running and reliability in creating mismatches in key moments.
On the offensive line, Belichick rolled out a dominant unit of All-Pro's featuring Jordan Mailata, Joe Thuney, Tyler Linderbaum, Quinn Meinerz, and Penei Sewell.
Belichick selected 49ers six-time Pro Bowler George Kittle to start at tight end over Raiders rookie sensation Brock Bowers .
Both versatile pass catchers and blockers were the few players on the list whose teams failed to make the 2024 postseason.
Belichick's defensive choices reflected his signature choice for a disruptive front and high-IQ secondary play.
His four-person rush included Browns pillar Myles Garrett , Vita Vea, Zach Allen, and Jared Verse, a mix of veteran dominance and emerging young talent.
At linebacker, the Ravens' dominant defensive presence, Roquan Smith, earned the start over Colts tackle machine Zaire Franklin.
Super Bowl LIX winner Zach Baun made the list as a linebacker across from Smith, with Belichick continuing his tradition of valuing smart, high-motor defenders.
In the secondary, Super Bowl hero and rookie Cooper DeJean , NFL Defensive Player of the Year winner Patrick Surtain II , Kyle Hamilton, Xavier McKinney, and Derek Stingley Jr.
formed the defensive backfield.
