Caitlin Clark faces bizarre accusation she 'ruined' NBA All-Star Weekend

WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark has been told she ruined the NBA All-Star Weekend after declining an invitation to take part in the three-point contest.
The NBA All-Star Game and weekend have been a source of controversy in recent years.
The Slam Dunk Contest has struggled for star names in years past to take part, with Mac McClung winning each of the last three iterations of the event compared to the likes of Michael Jordan and Vince Carter .
Last year, eyes were fixated on the three-point contest as Steph Curry took on New York Liberty stud Sabrina Ionescu .
But in 2025, Tyler Herro took home the silverware, despite Curry shooting more efficiently and at a higher rate than the Miami Heat guard.
Then theres the All-Star Game itself, which suffers from the same issue as the NFL s Pro Bowl.
Star players are declining to participate, but its also the lack of competitiveness that plagues the game as injuries are avoided at all costs for what is a novel, one-off game.
According to FOX Sports Radio host Rob Parker, it is not NBA commissioner Adam Silver or any of the players that are at fault for the grossly unpopular All-Star Game, but Indiana Fever guard Clark.
Theres one person and one person only who has ruined NBA All-Star Weekend and thats Caitlin Clark, Parker said.
Caitlin Clark has ruined NBA All-Star Weekend.
They invited her to be involved in the shooting contest with Steph.
Right? And they were gonna make this nice thing go, and give people something to watch.
She is television ratings gold, right? Everything shes in, people are watching.
That would have been the only reason to watch any of the festivities this weekend.
They got a no-name Slam Dunk Contest.
They got four All-Star teams with people who arent even All-Stars playing.
The younger people, the people they picked up off the street, the old veterans, the international players.
While Parker makes some good points, his overall argument is way off; he went on to claim that Clark and the WNBA should feel obligated to help the NBA.
But not only is Clark not a member of the league anyway, she has already outlined that she is saving her first three-point contest to be in the WNBA All-Star Weekend, which will help the burgeoning league continue to grow.
Parkers co-host Kelvin Washington vehemently disagreed, saying: We came back from New Orleans, we came back from Super Bowl week, and you just, I mean, you said Theres no more football.
So let me just be the thing.
Let me just start with the outlandishness, Rob Parker.
Caitlin Clark is at home minding her own business and she has to be the sole reason for you to watch the NBA All-Star Weekend? Lets start with this.
How about the NBA players make the All-Star Weekend something to watch.
Washington suggested stars like LeBron James , Kevin Durant , and Curry havent pulled their weight when it comes to the All-Star Game, adding: How bout for the last 56 years, they made it something that we couldnt wait to see.
The Dunk Contest, the Three-Point Contest.
And youre telling her she should have to do it? The NBA didnt even make LeBron do a Dunk Contest for the last 15 years.
You know what they didnt do? Make Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Damian Lillard, and all the best three-point shooters do it every year.
They dont make their own best participate.
You have not seen Zion Williamson in an NBA Dunk Contest yet.
Oh, let me keep going.
You havent seen Anthony Edwards.
Oh, let me keep going.
You havent seen Ja Morant in a Dunk Contest.
But Caitlin Clark in another league has to all of a sudden come over here and be Superwoman and save it?.
