Entering the second half of the season, the LA Clippers have placed themselves in contention for the playoffs.

There is a real battle in the Western Conference to simply make the Play-In Tournament.

The Phoenix Suns are on the outside looking in.

Five games ahead of the 11th placed Suns are the 6th places Los Angeles Clippers , who have had a quietly efficient season, posting a 31-23 record entering the All-Star break with three consecutive wins.

And their season so far has not really received enough attention for a team loaded with stars, seasoned veterans, and a controversial All-Star snub in Norman Powell .

Kendrick Perkins believes the LA Clippers can win it all Kendrick Perkins believes the Los Angeles Clippers have the ability to win the NBA title, naming him as his sneaky pick in a segment with ESPNs Get Up.

Perkins cited the Clippers roster, which has recently been bolstered with the free agent addition of Ben Simmons , after he bought out his Brooklyn Nets contract.

He pointed out that the team is no longer relying on Kawhi Leonard to lead them, he is a complimentary piece to James Harden and Norman Powell.

Perkins explained: When it comes down to a sneaky pick that I have, listen to me, Im going with the Clippers.

A team that doesnt get talked about enough, the Los Angeles Clippers.

Led by Ty Lue, Kawhi Leonard is the third option on this team now to James Harden and Norman Powell, which is a great thing for the Clippers.

Perkins added that he is confident Simmons can play a valuable role for the team, having made an impressive debut .

He said: They have a lot of seasoned vets when you look at their team.

Zubac who is one of the most underrated centers in the league.

They have Nicolas Batum who is one of those veterans we have seen in the postseason that can rise to the occasion.

I love the pieces they have.

Ben Simmons, hear me out now, Ben Simmons is going to be special for them off the bench.

LA Clippers return to competitive schedule Following the All-Star break, the LA Clippers return to action with a road trip against four current playoff teams.

They face four teams in the Eastern Conference , on the road against the Bucks, Pacers and Pistons.

A game at the Bulls, 10th in the East, is a little softer, but this is a challenging run to return to, and if they can go 4-0 across this stretch, it would really lay down a statement.
