Los Angeles Chargers Will Get Huge Boost This Offseason, According To One NFL Insider

The Los Angeles Chargers became a playoff team very quickly.

Their defensive turnaround was incredible, and the culture saw a massive shift, but did the offense take a step back? In order to go from a playoff team to a true title contender, the Chargers have to improve their offense in several areas.

Probably the most glaring is in the passing game.

Rookie Ladd McConkey led all receivers with 1,149 yards receiving.

Quentin Johnston was next with 711, and Joshua Palmer came in third with 584 yards receiving.

Statistically, this actually is not horrible, but the consistency was lacking, and the Chargers are still missing that constant big-play ability.

They will be looking to add another piece this offseason to pair with McConkey.

ESPN just released their 2025 NFL Predictions with a roundtable of NFL Insiders and reporters.

Former Chargers beat writer, and now national reporter Lindsey Thiry gave a prediction that will probably be met with some mixed reviews.

If the Jets move on from Adams, the Chargers should sign him ASAP.

In Jim Harbaughs first season, they lost in the wild-card round with a floundering offense.

Justin Herbert needs a true No.

1 receiver, and Adams fits the bill.

At 32 years old, he may not be what he once was, but Davante Adams is still a very solid receiver.

The biggest question for the Los Angeles Chargers is if they view McConkey as their WR1 moving forward or as more of a complimentary piece and they need to find that true number one.

I dont think Adams is a true WR1 anymore, but as a WR2 he would be a very nice fit.

Over the final six games of the season, Adams finished with 41 receptions, 576 yards, and six touchdowns.

Thats more yards than Palmer, in just six games.

The only issue with this scenario is that Adams is still under contract with the New York Jets.

I dont see the Chargers trading for him and inheriting his bloated contract.

So it would take the Jets releasing Adams for this to happen.

If they did, then Joe Hortiz should be on the phone with his agent ASAP.
