The Golden State Warriors might dangle a $7 million contract in front of a valuable Boston Celtics player this summer to see if hell leave Boston.

The Warriors will be shopping for depth at the center position, and the Celtics will be open to moving on from at least one of their four playable centers.

Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis are most likely in Boston to stay (unless Horford retires), but Neemias Queta and Luke Kornet might not be.

The Warriors arent looking to spend much.

They dont have much cap flexibility with Stephen Curry , Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green representing a combined $140 million cap hit next season.

The good news for the Dubs is that a guy like Kornet wouldnt be expensive.

Hes making a $2.8 million minimum salary right now with the Celtics, and hes playing like he deserves more.

Bleacher Reports Eric Pincus wrote on Friday that the Celtics might accept losing Kornet if another team offers him a deal significantly fatter than the minimum.

Kornet has earned notice as a rotation player on one of the top teams in the NBA, Pincus wrote.

He has legit size (7'1") and may be a role player teams consider, especially with the Celtics' already-heavy payroll.

Boston can pay him more than the minimum, but if another team offers something in the $5-7 million range, the Celtics may feel the pressure (financially) to move on.

Could the Warriors be the team to pry Kornet away? More NBA: Warriors might trade Jimmy Butler this summer to reunite with MVP wing.
