The Los Angeles Rams could land Aaron Rodgers amid rumors the NFC West franchise could trade Matthew Stafford.

Earlier this month, Rodgers two-year tenure with the New York Jets came to a crushing end .

After hiring head coach Aaron Glenn and GM Darren Mougey, the Jets informed the four-time MVP that his time with the franchise was over - and despite a lack of options, Rodgers could replace Stafford in Los Angeles .

Stafford remains a top-tier NFL quarterback.

Last season, he threw for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns to just 8 interceptions while leading the Rams to the playoffs, where they upset the Minnesota Vikings before coming agonizingly close to defeating the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles .

The Rams would surely welcome Stafford back, but the 37-year-old is due $35 million for the upcoming 2025 NFL season and none of it is guaranteed.

The two parties are working on a new deal, and while Stafford will likely stay in Hollywood, the NFL is unpredictable .

Stafford will want to make sure he is fairly compensated, which is why McVay and Co.

could move on from him if a deal cannot be struck with the likes of the Giants waiting in the wings.

If the former Super Bowl champion is forced out, Rodgers would jump at the opportunity to play for the Rams.

Last season, even amid a difficult 5-12 campaign in New York, Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns, along with 11 interceptions.

He has lost a step, but Rodgers remains a strong passer who can make the correct read when given time in the pocket.

Super Bowl LIX: Philadelphia Eagles fans can celebrate historic win with Super Bowl LIX merch The 41-year-old would hardly represent a long-term option.

However, he wants to continue playing and the Rams, armed with a young defense and a cunning head coach, would offer the best possible option.

Any Rams move for Rodgers is contingent on Stafford leaving.

The Giants are heavily linked with Stafford given the NFC East franchise endured a revolving door under center with Daniel Jones , Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito, and Tim Boyle all taking snaps.

Given the lackluster play at the sports most important position, many expect New York to select either Miami s Cam Ward or Colorado s Shedeur Sanders with the No.

3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft .

However, Stafford is emerging as an option with the Rams asking for a first-round pick in any trade.

It is unclear if the Giants - or any other franchise in need of a quarterback - would pay such a steep price.

Especially with Big Blue sitting near the top of the order..
