WNBA superstar Angel Reese appeared to be moved by the emotive comments from NBA legend Kevin Durant about his experience of representing his country at the Olympic Games.

The Phoenix Suns power forward has formed an integral part of the U.S.

national team during his glittering career, winning gold at the Games on four occasions.

The 36-year-old is the only athlete to have achieved that feat in a team sport in history, while being the only competitor to have won the MVP prize in the NBA, Olympics and World Cup.

The former Brooklyn Nets fan favorite also became Team USA's all-time Olympics points scorer at the spectacle in Paris en route to winning the tournament.

Reflecting on representing his nation at the Games from London 2012 onwards, Durant was left feeling emotional as he spoke about his sport being a uniting force on and off the court.

With his pride palpable, the veteran star said on Netflix's "Court of Gold": "I come from neighbourhoods where people don't even talk to each other.

Its so much hate in the world...

When people get to start laughing and joking for a game of ball, its cool to me.

So like, it gets me emotional dawg..." "They spend their money, they bring their whole family.

It's just dope to me," he said, as he spoke in glowing terms about the support from fans at the Olympics down the years.

"The game has saved my life, so...

It brought me and my family out of a lot of ****, so I'm just grateful for it.

For real." Taking to Twitter/X, Chicago superstar Reese appeared moved by what she had watched as she reacted to the clip of Durant from the Netflix documentary.

Issuing an emotional response, the former college basketball sensation simply said: This hoop ---- mean sum man..." Fans agreed with her in the comments too, with one enthusiast saying: "It was cool to see Steph, KD & Lebron show off a little, as another looked forward to seeing what the future holds for the youngster, saying: "Cant wait till you get one of these too! your journey has been nothing but inspiring and incredible." A third fan was left feeling inspired by Durant's remarks about his experience of playing the sport he became synonymous with, saying: "He is right ball brings people together.

World needs more love, as a fourth looked forward to Reese competing at the Olympics in 2028, adding: "I hope to see you in 2028 in LA." Having helped to transform the popularity of women's basketball alongside rival Caitlin Clark in recent times, the Chicago Sky ace spoke openly about the prospect of appearing alongside the former at the Olympics in Los Angeles.

Discussing the prospect at the WNBA All-Star Game, Reese professed: "It's so cool.

"I know when she gets the ball, I'm running to look for the ball because I know she's gonna throw it.

So, she's been great to play with.

The future - we're gonna be playing with each other a lot.

Hopefully in four years we can be Olympians together.".
