Travis Kelce’s full circle moment comes at Super Bowl 2025 – from drugs ban to redemption road with Taylor Swift

The 2025 Super Bowl could become a full-circle moment for Travis Kelce.
The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to seal the first-ever NFL threepeat, but the Super Bowl in New Orleans could be more symbolic for Kelce.
Being in New Orleans means more to Kelce than just playing in the Super Bowl.
It also connects him to his college playing days where he became a star and was drafted to the Kansas City Chiefs.
His football dream nearly came crashing down early in college though.
While playing for the Cincinnati Bearcats, Kelce was briefly kicked out of college following a failed drug test.
Cincinnati travelled to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl in 2010, and Kelce spent the weekend partying hard outside of playing in the game.

"The NCAA came with a drug test and my heart literally just sunk right to the floor." Those parties came back to bite him, as he soon failed a drug test for marijuana.
That failed test placed him on Cincinnatis suspended list.
It was Kelces brother, Jason, who got him back on track after that low moment and helped him revive his football career.
Most read in American Football Jason was also playing football at Cincinnati, and had his brother move in with him so he could keep an eye on him.
"I kind of asked him to move in with me so I could keep an eye on him and maybe he would take things a little more seriously," he said.
He also went to bat with Cincinnati coaches to get his brother back on the team, something Travis has said he is forever in debt for.
"My brother came in like he was Superman," Travis said through tears.
"I don't know what the heck he told them.
I don't know what he said." "I remember me telling them, 'hey Trav is a good kid he just made a stupid mistake,'" Jason said.
"Not only is he a great player but he's a great person, everybody loves him.
"He's a great teammate." *If you click on a link in this boxout, we may earn affiliate revenue.

Travis originally played quarterback at Cincinnati, but he was only allowed back on the team if he transitioned to playing tight end.
That was a blessing in disguise, as he proved to excel at the position and was drafted by the Chiefs with the 63rd overall pick in the 2012 draft.
"I truly feel like that was one of the best things that has ever happened to him," Jason said.
"Up until that point, he hadn't really been through a major adverse situation to have to overcome something and to have to work hard to get back into the good graces of the coaches." Read More on The US Sun After his college struggles, the rest is history.
