Ryan Donato Leads Blackhawks to Victory in 6-2 Win Over Nashville

On Friday night, Feb.
7, the Chicago Blackhawks showed the Nashville Predators how pond hockey is played in a 6-2 win.
Ryan Donato scored four points, including his career high 18th goal.
This game was back and forth all night long.
Even though the score makes it look like the Blackhawks owned the Predators, it was a closer game than it seems.
The Blackhawks finished the game owning only 43% of 5-on-5 shot attempts (Corsi) and 42% of expected goals (xG%).
The Hawks' best possession numbers came in the first period with a 50 Corsi.
In the third period, the Blackhawks had 34 Corsi and that could be due to scoring effects.
We're doing things a little differently in this recap.
Look, a lot of goals were scored and it's late.
So, I want to focus on the kids and a couple of plays I earmarked.
Blackhawks X has the scoring breakdown for you: let's break this down: Donato: 2G, 2A Nazar: 1G, 1A Jones: 1G, 1A Bedard: 1G, 1A Teravainen: 2A Maroon: 1G Vlasic: 2A pic.twitter.com/xTTuEmAdbd Before we get to the kids, I do want to recognize Ryan Donato having a fantastic game.
Two goals and two assists are great for his trade value, which is the highest it will ever be.
But I am still very much on the "give him an extension" bus.
Oh, and congrats on him breaking past 200 points.
The man of the hour was Donato, but let's talk about Connor Bedard.
His goal was electrifying.
Capitalizing on that one-timer is something he has to do more of and tonight we saw how dangerous it can be.
In total, Bedard only had three shot attempts, three shots on goal, and three scoring chances.
Bedard adds to the #Blackhawks lead.
pic.twitter.com/d5DHYkY8qw Landon Slaggert is fast.
He's fast as hell.
I want to see Slaggert on the first line maybe a couple more games, but I feel like Frank Nazar 's speed and talent is better suited here than Slaggert.
Also, Slaggert threw down the gloves.

Nazar had a 57 Corsi, four shots on goal, five shot attempts, and five scoring chances.
Nazar was excellent on the penalty kill and had one shot on goal, one shot attempt, and a scoring chance.
Frank's goal was also nice.
Chicago goal! Scored by Frank Nazar with 11:23 remaining in the 1st period.
Assisted by Alex Vlasic and Teuvo Teravainen.
Chicago: 1 Nashville: 0 #NSHvsCHI #Blackhawks #Smashville pic.twitter.com/REeR7lxzSj Alex Vlasic had one of his better games as of late.
He finished the night with a 50 Corsi and a 52 xG%.
Vlasic also had two assists and was the driver for Frank Nazar's goal.
Watch Vlasic (CHI72) in the above X-post.
The Blackhawks play again this evening at 6 pm CT against the St.
Louis Blues..
