Mercury Roundup (Feb. 13): Hill School boys basketball wins league playoff opener vs. Lawrenceville
Boys Basketball Hill School 79, Lawrenceville School 60 Hill took care of business in its first league playoff contest, knocking off host Lawrenceville in the quarterfinals of the Mid-Atlantic Prep League tournament via a 19-point victory on Thursday.
The Blues (21-6 overall) advanced to Saturday afternoons semifinals, where they will take on Pennington School at 3 p.m.
The MAPL championship game will be played on Sunday at noon back at Lawrenceville.
Hill was also awarded the No.
3 seed in the PAISAA Tournament the regions independent schools version of a state tournament scheduled to begin next week and run through March 2.
The Blues will host No.
14 Episcopal Academy on Feb.
19 at 5:30 p.m.
Perkiomen School (National) 110, College Achieve Charter School (National) 91 Perkiomens national squad put on a show for Senior Night as former Perk Valley standout Julian Sadler posted a team-high 22 points in the victory.
Four additional Panthers (17-8 overall) reached double figures in scoring: Hayden Johns (20 points), KJ Cochran (18 points), Gabe Tanner (14 points) and Deniz Gokpinar (10 points).
Additionally, the Panthers earned the top seed in the 16-team PAISAA Tournament.

College Achieve Charter School (Prep) 60, Perkiomen School (Prep) 50 Jackson Cloughs 13 points led the way for Perkiomens prep team on Thursday but were not enough to deliver a victory.
Jack Greaves added 10 points for the Panthers, who slipped to 6-6 overall in the losing effort.
The Perkiomen prep squad will host Inter-Academic League champion Penn Charter on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Girls Basketball Pennington School 58, Hill School 43 The Hill School girls basketball team was one-and-done in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League quarterfinals at Lawrenceville School on Thursday, dropping a 15-point decision to rival Pennington School.
Pennington advanced to Saturdays semifinals, while Hill will now turn its attention to next weeks PAISAA Tournament.
Hill (6-20 overall) received the No.
13 seed in the tournament and will play a play-in game at 12th-seeded Agnes Irwin School on Feb.
18, with the winner of that one advancing to face No.
