Dan Orlovsky issues public apology to Jalen Hurts live on First Take after controversial remarks before Super Bowl

FORMER NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky has issued a public apology to Jalen Hurts after he was crowned the Super Bowl MVP on Sunday.
Hurts was the star man as the Philadelphia Eagles cruised to a 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome.
The 26-year-old completed 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns during the game.
His impressive display did not only result in a Super Bowl title, but also a public apology from ex-Detroit Lions star Orlovsky.
The former quarterback, who now works for ESPN as a football analyst, has been highly critical of Hurts this season, questioning his abilities on multiple occasions.
But he was forced to eat his words after Sunday's Superbowl showcase.
READ MORE ON SUPER BOWL During an appearance on First Take earlier this week, Orlovsky said: "I owe publicly Jalen Hurts an apology.
"I was probably one this year whos been the hardest on him.
Ill go back to a couple of weeks ago when I said the passing games not good enough right now and I dont think its going to get better.
"All hes done since then is have his two best games of the year on the two biggest stages that the game has been on, the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl.
"He was sensational last night...
He made one bad play last night in a Super Bowl against the fourth-ranked defense in the NFL that was giving up, on average, 18 points a game.
Most read in American Football "One mistake, one bad play, and all Jalen Hurts has done is constantly believed in himself, no matter what anyone has said." Orlovsky also hinted that his future at ESPN is uncertain , revealing he plans to step away from TV for a break.
He said: "You guys know this is the end of the season for me, certainly for RC [Ryan Clark] as well, I'm taking a break, won't be on TV for a long time.
But I just wanted to say thank you to you guys, Stephen A., Molly [Qerim], Shannon [Sharpe] for a great season.
"Love being with you guys, I love y'all.
Never know what the future holds but I'm taking a break and I'm sure RC is as well.
So just wanted to say thank you, I appreciate you guys so much.".
