MLB.com | Bryan Hoch : The Yankees are about to enter camp, and a few words are on everyones mind: defense, athleticism, and run prevention.

Thats what the Yankees believe they bolstered after losing Juan Soto, in adding an elite starting pitcher, perhaps the best reliever on the planet, and center field/first base hybrid Cody Bellinger.

The roster still cries out for another infield bat, but the Yankees arent wrong when they say that they beefed up other areas.

Well start to see how it all shakes out beginning this week.

CBS Sports | Matt Snyder : The Hall of Fame announced yesterday what cap each new inductee would be wearing on their plaques this summer, and there were no surprises.

Billy Wagner will wear an Astros cap, Ichiro Suzuki will wear a Mariners cap, and CC Sabathia will wear a Yankees cap.

Though Sabathia made a name for himself as a Cy Young winner with Cleveland, it was in New York that he cemented his status as the premier workhorse starter of his generation.

Sabathia ultimately pitched the bulk of his career innings as a Yankee from 2009 to 2019, making 306 starts and totaling over 1900 frames.

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch : With spring training all but here, were getting into Opening Day roster projection season.

Hoch starts us off with a guess at what the Yankees roster will look like on March 27th.

Among the notable calls here are Jazz Chisholm Jr.

starting at second and DJ LeMahieu at third.

And elsewhere, weve got our first look at the Yankees spring training broadcast schedule: The @YESNetwork has announced its Yankees Spring Training broadcast schedule, including several games that will be available only on the Gotham Sports App: pic.twitter.com/GrBb1BkEO3 Note that many games will only be viewable through the new Gotham Sports app.

This is anecdotal, but in my experience and in the experience of others who Ive heard try to use Gotham, the app is very buggy and particularly difficult to use via a Roku TV.

Hopefully the process has been smoothed out by the time the Yankees start playing their games there.

And in case you missed it , the Yankees added left-handed pitcher Tyler Matzek on a minor league deal last night.

The 34-year-old impressed scouts at a recent workout according to Chris Cotillo.

Matzek was once a top starting prospect with the Rockies after being taken in the first round of the 2009 MLB Draft, but rose to prominence a decade later as a member of the Braves bullpen.

He has struggled with injuries in recent years but was excellent in relief for Atlanta across 2020 and 2021..
