Pirates Minor League Report: Harrington’s Strong September

Triple-A Indianapolis, the Pirates lone affiliate still playing this season, won 10-2 on Wednesday.

Thomas Harrington, the Pirates No.

5 ranked prospect overall and third-ranked right handed pitcher per MLB Pipeline , turned in five innings of one run ball and struck out five batters.

After speed bumps in his first few starts with Indianapolis, Harrington has settled in nicely over the past month, posting a 2.55 ERA in three starts.

On the other side of the stat sheet, homers from Endy Rodriguez, Matt Gorski and Jack Suwinski helped power the offense; Suwinski came a triple shy of the cycle.

Rodriguezs bat continues to heat up as he returns from Tommy John surgery, while Josh Palacios added a pair of doubles.

Here are some of the noteworthy performances from Indianapolis on Wednesday.

Triple-A Indianapolis (74-69) 1B Endy Rodriguez Game: 2-for-5 with a homer.

Season: .273/.314/.394 with a double and a homer in 8 rehab assignment games.

RHP Thomas Harrington Game: 5 IP, 1 ER, 5 Ks.

Season: 117.1 IP, 2.61 ERA, 115 Ks in 22 appearances (21 starts) throughout the Pirates system.
