The Nebraska football team has several players getting healthy this spring.

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule said Saturday that senior offensive linemen Teddy Prochazka and Turner Corcorans recoveries are ongoing.

Corcoran, who began this past season as NUs starting left tackle, suffered a season-ending hamstring injury which eventually led him to visit a specialist for surgery.

Prochazka is still recovering from an ACL injury sustained during fall camp.

Wide receiver Demitrius Bell is further behind in his rehabilitation process.

Bell, who missed the entire 2024 season after injuring his knee in last years Spring Game, is trending in the right direction to become fully healthy this summer according to Rhule.

Other Huskers who had offseason surgery and may be limited this spring as a result include offensive linemen Gunnar Gottula, Tyler Knaak, Henry Lutovksy and wide receiver Carter Nelson.

Other quick hits * Nebraska is still searching for its next special teams coordinator, and Rhule did not offer a timeline for when he expects a new hire to be finalized.

Rhule also said he anticipates the new hire will serve in a non-recruiting role.

Were doing some interviews and taking our time, Rhule said.

* The Huskers still have several months before theyll need to reach the court-mandated roster limit of 105 players, but plans are already in place.

We have our first 57 which is built exactly off an NFL roster, Rhule said.

And then after that, you want to start to have the semblance of a second 53.

Roster cuts may eventually be needed to reach the 105-player limit, but Rhule identified one player who he feels has earned a roster spot junior wide receiver Roman Mangini.

No one makes practice go better than Roman Mangini; hes out there catching balls on the scout team, spiking them and just raising the level of everything around us, Rhule said.

* Rhule began his media appearance by wishing former Nebraska volleyball head coach John Cook well in his retirement.

When you have a chance to be around the best and you have a chance to be around the greats, it only makes you better, Rhule said of Cook.

So, I was obviously sad and excited for him to hear that news the other day.
