High School Girls Basketball: Reagan tops West Forsyth; Davie County, East Forsyth pick up wins to remain in a three-way tie for first place in the Central Piedmont 4-A; McGuinness girls still perfect after 16th straight win

CLEMMONSIt wasnt nearly as easy as the first meeting of the season, but the Reagan girls basketball team still came out on top against West Forsyth.

Kayla George scored a team-high 14 points, including four key free throws down the stretch, and Grace Galyon added 10 as Reagan pulled out a 44-40 win against West Forsyth Friday.

Reagan beat West Forsyth 61-34 on Jan.

The Raiders improved to 13-6 overall and 8-2 in the Central Piedmont 4-A to keep pace with Davie County and East Forsyth, both of which also won Friday night to improve to 8-2 in conference play.

Reagan fell into an early 10-0 hole in the first quarter and didnt score until the 2:15 mark, but managed to cut the deficit to 10-9 heading into the second quarter.

Brooklyn Kings steal and layup with 1:32 left cut West Forsyths deficit to 37-36, but four straight free throws from George and a layup from Galyon allowed the Raiders to seal the win.

King led West Forsyth (10-9, 4-6 CPC) with 12 points, Emma Staples added nine and Isa Gil finished with eight.

Bishop McGuinness 61, College Prep and Leadership 18 Adelaide Jernigan scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Bishop McGuinness remained undefeated this season with a win against College Prep and Leadership.

Claire Sullivan added 10 points for McGuinness (16-0, 9-0), Jenna Stone finished with nine points and Olivia Stone had eight.
