NYY News: Extra (special) Terrestrial

MLB.com | Thomas Harrigan : Cody Bellinger may have been the closest direct, 1-to-1 replacement for Juan Soto, but top prospect Jasson Dominguez might be the most important part of the 2025 Yankee lineup aside from Aaron Judge.
Weve seen flashes of something really special with the Martian, but hell need to pull everything together in his first full big league season to give Judge the kinds of protection he enjoyed with Soto.
All signs point to the Yankees giving Jasson the full season of running room, so now all he has to do is make good on the potential weve heard about for a few years.
FanGraphs | Eric Longenhagen : Dominguez is of course the bright star in the Yankee farm system, and while Eric gives the club a gold star for the organizational depth in his 45-man list, Jassons just about the only big name.
The team boasts just two Top 100 names on The Board, The Martian and pitcher Will Warren, and Longenhagen seems particularly down on Spencer Jones and his sky-high strikeout rate.
Note that while other outlets have included 2023 first-rounder George Lombard Jr.
in their Top 100s, he didnt make Longenhagens Board (instead coming in fourth on the Yankees list).
New York Post | Greg Joyce ($): For a roster that was the ALs best just a few months ago, the Yankees have overhauled themselves in a major way this winter.
Obviously losing Juan Soto is never going to be a good thing, but the moves made since his departure have at least left the club projected to be the best in the Junior Circuit yet again, even if they look rather different than they did entering the World Series .
FanGraphs | Mike Baumann : We close with a fun one, our second FG entry of the day.
The departed Tommy Kahnle became famous or infamous for relying on his trademark changeup to the expense of all other pitches in the 2024 season.
He of course threw 60 straight offspeed pitches in the postseason and was one of the better arms the Yankees had in their pennant run! This leads to a nifty little rundown of similar times a pitcher had just chosen to offer up one pitch, and how often it works..
