Just like that, Wasatch is off the table as a possible permanent name for Utah s NHL team.

And Outlaws is back in play.

The Utah NHL organization announced the change Thursday after conducting fan voting inside Delta Center during Wednesdays home game against the Pittsburgh Penguins .

Fans werent warm to the idea of Wasatch, which was a late entrant after not being among the original six finalists.

It was only introduced after Utah ran into trademark issues with the Yeti cooler company and had to abandon the name as a possibility .

The remaining three choices under consideration are now: Those were all among the original six choices identified in the spring, along with Venom, Blizzard and Yeti.

While Utah encountered obstacles with each of those choices when seeking copyrights with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the remaining three presented the fewest issues.

Outlaws and Mammoth were deemed to have no conflicting marks that would bar registration, with only clerical errors needing to be cleared up to secure trademarks.

Yeti, Venom and Blizzard were refused due to the likelihood of confusion with other registered marks.

10, the Utah Hockey Club (HC) was refused because the mark is primarily geographically descriptive.

But the fact that the name is currently in use by the team offers a pathway to securing it.

As part of the voting process, fans are being shown closely guarded logo designs to go with the potential team names.

Voting will continue during the teams next three home games Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets , Sunday against the St.

Louis Blues and Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers .
