The Chiefs earned passage to the NFL's storied showpiece for a staggering fifth time in six attempts after an entertaining victory over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game .

Now, KC coach Reid has praised one unsung hero who has formed a focal part of the team's success since he was selected as the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft .

The veteran figure was effusive in his praise about the contributions of Worthy, who caught 11 passes for 130 yards and one touchdown in the Chiefs' playoff run.

Prior to that, the 21-year-old tallied up 59 receptions for 638 yards with six touchdowns, alongside 104 yards on 20 carries with three touchdowns during his maiden regular season at Arrowhead.

Speaking during an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, coach Reid praised the starlet, saying: "Listen, he has done everything we have asked him to do.

"Plus a little bit more.

And thats kinda where you gotta go with it, he continued, as he revealed his admiration for Worthy's displays during his maiden year with the Chiefs, before adding: "Some guys arent willing to do the things that we asked them to do." Worthy was particularly impressive during the AFC Championship Game , contributing ix catches for 85 yards and a touchdown in a thrilling 32-29 victory.

The wide receiver also had some personal scores to settle against the Bills after they decided not the select him in the draft .

Before the game he had vowed: "At the end of the day, I'm going to play with my chip on my shoulder.

This game means a little bit more.

Obviously, it's the AFC championship game, but this is a team that traded their pick away to get somebody else." After victory was confirmed, the starlet could not hide his glee as he got one over on the Bills by denying them a Super Bowl spot in dramatic circumstances.

He reflected: "I said it once, they skipped on me, that's their loss." Speaking at a press conference after the win over the Bills in the AFC title decider , Reid said of the youngster's displays during his rookie campaign: "I was actually talking to his mom about that after the game.

The kid, every week, has just gotten better, and better, and better.

"And hes really put together a nice half of the season the second half, here.

Not that he didnt have good plays in the first half.

But you could see he was learning in the first half and the quarterback was kind of learning where he was going to be and how he was going to get there against all these different coverages that teams throw at you.

Reid added: "So, it looks like theyre on the same page and theyll have a big challenge in two weeks with the Eagles their secondary, theyve got a real good secondary there, too.".
