Deion Sanders has been a transformative force since taking over at Colorado, bringing an undeniable energy and star power to the program.

From his bold recruiting tactics to assembling a staff filled with former NFL greats, Coach Prime has completely reshaped the Buffaloes' identity.

His impact extends far beyond wins and lossesSanders has made Colorado a national conversation piece, drawing attention from recruits, media, and football legends alike.

However, despite the buzz surrounding the program, Colorado has struggled mightily in one key area: running the football.

In 2023, the Buffaloes managed just 827 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, averaging a dismal 2.3 yards per carry.

Things didnt improve much in 2024, as they rushed for only 854 yards with 15 touchdowns, posting a slightly betterbut still underwhelming2.6 yards per carry.

These numbers highlight one of the biggest issues Sanders must address heading into the future.

Now, another Hall of Famer is joining the movement to fix that problem.

Marshall Faulk, one of the greatest running backs in NFL history, has been hired as Colorados new running backs coach .

The program announced the hire Thursday night, adding yet another marquee name to Sanders growing coaching tree.

Faulk will be the third Pro Football Hall of Famer on Colorados staff, joining Sanders and Warren Sapp.

Inducted into the Hall in 2011 on his first ballot, Faulk put together a legendary career with the Indianapolis Colts and St.

Louis Rams, cementing himself as one of the most versatile backs the game has ever seen.

While this will be Faulks first collegiate coaching job, hes no stranger to breaking down the game at a high level.

He previously worked as an analyst for NFL Network, where he and Sanders shared the screen, providing insight from their decorated playing careers.

Now, hell bring his expertise to Boulder, looking to help Colorados offense take another step forward.

Before making his mark in the NFL, Faulk was a star at San Diego State, earning College Football Hall of Fame honors.

A three-time First Team All-WAC selection and two-time unanimous All-American, he was a Heisman Trophy finalist in all three of his collegiate seasons.

That dominance led the Colts to select him No.

2 overall in the 1994 NFL Draft, where he wasted no time making an impact, winning the NFLs Offensive Rookie of the Year award after rushing for 1,282 yards and 11 touchdowns in his first season.

With Sanders at the helm and Faulk now in the fold, Colorado has another big name to help turn the program around.

The Buffaloes' offensive struggles, particularly in the run game, have been a glaring weakness.

If Faulk can impart even a fraction of his football knowledge to the running backs, Colorado may finally see a resurgence in their ground attack.

The Buffaloes will be one of the most intriguing teams to watch in the coming seasons, both on the field and on the sidelines..
