PHILADELPHIA EAGLES are sweating on a key man just four days before the Super Bowl.

And it's one of the players who their opponents Kansas Chiefs most fear.

Defensive tackle Jalen Carter missed media duties on Wednesday with illness.

The 23-year-old was the only Eagle missing from the open training session.

Coach Nick Sirianni would hate to be without the 2023 NFL draft for Sunday's showpiece at the Caesars Superdome.

The former Georgia Bulldogs college star has emerged as a vital cog in Philadelphia 's defense.

READ MORE ON THE NFL Earlier in the week Carter had spoken cheekily about the challenge of encountering Patrick Mahomes .

The 29-year-old is chasing his fourth Super Bowl in eight years with the Chiefs.

But Carter had his own solution when asked how Mahomes could be stopped .

He said: "One thing is to sack him.

Most read in American Football 'If we do that or get him off his game, I think were going to have a good game." But Carter also stressed his faith in his own team's tactics.

He explained: "Im very confident.

Coach Vic (Eagles defensive coordinator Fangio) got us here and Im pretty sure hes going to finish us off right." Philadelphia also want revenge for their 38-35 Super Bowl defeat against the Chiefs in 2023.

But Kansas are sniffing a piece of history - as they aim to become the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three straight titles.

That bid has now been boosted by the Chiefs reporting NO fitness issues..
