MiLB.com : The damage done by Hurricane Milton in October has forced the Tampa Bay Rays out of Tropicana Field in St.

Petersburg, onto the main playing surface at George M.

Steinbrenner Field in Tampa.

Thats meant the Yankees Low-A affiliate Tampa Tarpons will play their home games at the adjacent Community Field.

The Tarpons new home has undergone extensive renovations this winter, including new lighting and seating for up to 1,000 MiLB fans.

Its not ideal, but its a fine temporary solution for all parties in a difficult situation, and the Yankees are getting about $15 million for loaning out Steinbrenner Field in 2025.

MLB Trade Rumors | Anthony Franco : A former Yankee hurler has a minor-league deal, on the same day New York brought Tim Hill back into the fold .

Victor Gonzalez will look to rebound from a bad 2024 in the Bronx, where he threw just 23.1 innings out of the bullpen.

While his 3.86 ERA wasnt terrible, any pitcher that walks more batters than he strikes out is due for a really hard correction, and the Angels will be tasked to getting that lack of control...under control.

Happy trails and good luck, Victor.

FanGraphs | Jay Jaffe : The man who makes compelling cases to care about the Hall of Fame is now making compelling cases to care about batting average.

Im not sure its working on me, but Jaffe makes strong points about the entertainment value of a high-average hitter, while conceding that the material value of a high average can be volatile at best..
