New York Post | Greg Joyce : Jasson Dominguez is only 21-years-old, but it somehow feels as though weve been waiting for ages to see the youngster get a real shot in the bigs.

A torn UCL suffered during a late-2023 cameo derailed Dominguezs chance at getting a full look in the majors last year, but as currently constructed, the 2025 Yankees roster is set up to give El Marciano every chance to prove himself.

Dominguez had an uneven 2024 coming back from elbow surgery, but now that hes had a full healthy offseason to reset, expectations will be sky high entering 2025.

ESPN | Kiley McDaniel : The consensus around prospect circles is that the Yankee farm system is in a down cycle at the moment.

We can check that sentiment here, in McDaniels objective ranking of the leagues farm systems.

They clock in at 21st, after ranking a strong sixth in these rankings last year.

It makes sense; the Yankees jettisoned loads of talent to bring in Juan Soto, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Mark Leiter Jr., and more, graduated top talents like Austin Wells and Luis Gil, and saw even others like Chase Hampton and Dominguez deal with injuries.

Though the farm will look shakier still once Dominguez graduates, McDaniel predicts the system as a whole will bounce back in 2025.

Baseball Prospectus | Patrick Dubuque : ($) Not a strictly Yankees article, but an interesting one nonetheless; Dubuque makes a compelling case for restricting the size of fielders gloves.

In theory, slightly smaller gloves, which now can range up to 13 inches, would cause a tick up in BABIP, which in turn would incentivize contact.

Making fielders jobs just a little bit harder could be a reasonable tool for the league to use as it looks for ways to encourage players to put the ball in play more and to limit strikeouts.

MLB.com | Anthony Castrovince : Fay Vincent, commissioner of MLB from 1989 to 1992, passed away at the age 86.

Vincent succeeded A.

Bartlett Giamatti as commissioner in September of 1989 and served for about three years before resigning under pressure from the leagues owners.

Vincent famously banned George Steinbrenner from baseball in 1990.

Vincent was also commissioner during the 1990 lockout and oversaw the plans for the NLs 1993 expansion, which brought the Marlins and Rockies into existence..
