Current football players understand injuries are part of this hard-hitting contact sport.

While broken bones and bruises are visible to others, concussions are more difficult to see.

When a helmet bangs into the playing surface, or other violent above-the-shoulder collisions, many see but everyone knows other incidents are ignored every game.

In recent years, athletes and parents of youth have started evaluating the risks and rewards of playing football.

Football is an amazing sport, but moving forward with participation is a decision that should not be taken lightly.
