Rams' Jordan Whittington named to NFL All-Rookie team

Jordan Whittington of the Los Angeles Rams has been selected to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team.

Whittington, a Cuero graduate, was selected by the Rams in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of the University of Texas.

Whittington was named to the All-Rookie team for special teams.

He accumulated 453 return yards in the 2024 season, ranking 13th in the NFL and first among rookies.

He averaged 28.3 yards per return.

Whittington played in 41 games at Texas and made 25 starts.

He ranks 12th in the programs history with 141 receptions, and 14th with 1,757 receiving yards.

Whittington appeared in all 14 games as a senior and made eight starts.

He had 42 receptions for 505 yards and one touchdown.

Whittington helped lead Cuero to the 2018 Class 4A, Division II state championship.

He set a state championship game record by rushing for 334 yards and six touchdowns in the Gobblers' 40-28 win over Pleasant Grove..
