Former American League manager of the year will lead Drillers in 2025

Former American League manager of the year Eric Wedge is the Tulsa Drillers' new manager.
The Drillers and parent Los Angeles Dodgers made that joint announcement Wednesday.
Wedge, 56, succeeds Scott Hennessey, who managed the Double-A Drillers from 2017-24 before being promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City in October.
We are excited to have someone with Erics experience as our new manager, Drillers president Mike Melega said in a press release.
We were fortunate to have Henny as our manager for most of seven seasons, and now we welcome Eric who comes to Tulsa equipped with 10 years of MLB managerial experience.
It shows the commitment that the Dodgers have to player development, and the Drillers organization is a beneficiary of that commitment.
Wedge was the Cleveland Indians' manager from 2003-09.
He led Cleveland to the 2007 ALCS and was named the league's top manager that season.
In 2005, he was runner-up for AL manager of the year.
Wedge also managed the Seattle Mariners from 2011-13.
His overall major league record was 774-846.
Wedge was a player development advisor for the Toronto Blue Jays from 2016-19 before returning to his alma mater, Wichita State, as head coach from 2020-22.
He was 65-61 at Wichita State.
