Golden Knights’ Cole Schwindt week-to-week with lower-body injury

Vegas Golden Knights right winger Cole Schwindt will be sidelined on a week-to-basis due to a lower-body injury, Ryan Wallis of Fox Sports Las Vegas reported Tuesday.

Facing off against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, Schwindt exited early into the second period and did not return, wrapping up the night with 6:13 in ice time.

On the season, Schwindt has made 38 appearances with the Golden Knights in which he has registered seven assists with a plus-two rating.

Schwindt is skating in his first season with the Golden Knights following past stops with the Florida Panthers and Calgary Flames .

In all, Schwindt has made 45 NHL appearances in which he has totaled seven points with a minus-three rating and two penalty minutes.

Originally chosen by the Panthers in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Schwindt joined the Golden Knights in early October after being claimed off waivers from the Flames.

Per PuckPedia , the journeyman forward is on a one-year contract that carries an $800,000 annual average value.

Schwindt is eligible to become a restricted free agent this coming offseason.

Beyond his three NHL seasons, Schwindts experience at the pro level also includes four seasons in the AHL, counting stops with the Syracuse Crunch, Charlotte Checkers, and Calgary Wranglers, where through 218 career contests he has collected 48 goals and 62 assists for 110 points.

The 23-year-old native of Kitchener, Ont., is a graduate of the OHLs Mississauga Steelheads.

For the Golden Knights, the club sits atop the Pacific Division with a 29-14-4 record and 62 points.

However, Vegas has hit a rough patch in recent weeks in managing a lone regulation win and just three points in its past seven outings.

The Golden Knights will look to return to their winning ways when they return to the ice Thursday to take on the St.

Louis Blues .
