Raiders WR Davante Adams gives his rookie Brock Bowers the type of respect you won't hear often

The Las Vegas Raiders got a lot of flack for their 2024 NFL Draft pick in the first round.
They selected Brock Bowers when, sure, they needed a quarterback, and still do, really, but that just wasn't possible.
When the Atlanta Falcons took Michael Penix for some odd reason, and the Denver Broncos took Bo Nix, the Raiders had no real shot of getting a quarterback they felt was good enough to take at pick No.
13, or at all, for that matter.
So, they got who they felt was the best overall player in the draft in former Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers, who is the greatest college tight end of all time.
The move was a head-scratcher to some because the Raiders drafted former Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer the year prior in the second round.
And, there were much bigger needs still on the list, like offensive line and secondary.
So far, Bowers has not only proved the Raiders to be right way back on draft night, but he's making Tom Telesco look like a genius in that aspect.
Bowers has the most catches ever by any tight end in their first two career games, with 15.
He leads the league in receiving yards and catches for any tight end, and is top 10 in both categories as a pass catcher.
His start to his NFL career has been nothing short of spectacular, and his teammates are already giving him some of the biggest praise one can get.
"Well I don't even like to put any expectations on young players but, the type of kid he is, I mean he literally only cares about football," wide receiver Davante Adams said on the Up and Adams show to Kay Adams and Rob Gronkowski.
"He shows some promise of looking like this guy who's on the screen with us right now (Gronk).
I don't want to do that to him or downplay what he's done because he's one of the best ever and I totally mean that, but this young player is on a different level for a rookie.
I think the Baltimore Ravens felt that, too." The Raiders definitely made the right decision, and Adams is completely right -- Bowers cares about nothing but football.
And his comments about being the next Gronk, well, they are very accurate.
I'm sure he's not the only one that feels that way, too.
In fact, Gronkowski even said he agrees in terms of being a pass catcher.
To me, Bowers has a little Travis Kelce-George Kittle to him.
Of course, he wants to be his own player, and he will be, but that's the type of praise you love to hear.
