Greg Olsen puts out firm Super Bowl statement after Tom Brady role called into question

FOX Sports analyst Greg Olsen has admitted that he's not content in his current role and still wishes to call the biggest NFL games after being demoted following Tom Brady 's arrival.
Olsen was the top analyst at FOX Sports until the network managed to secure Brady on a huge 10-year, $375 million contract .
Like Brady, Olsen joined FOX after retiring from the NFL but instantly became one of the top analysts in America, earning an Emmy Award for his coverage.
In a ruthless move ahead of this season, Olsen was instantly demoted within the network when Brady arrived, which meant he was no longer required for championship games and the Super Bowl, which will be broadcast on FOX this season.
Brady has also been criticized by fans during his first season as an analyst, and Olsen has hinted that he could join a rival network.
In an interview with WCNC Charlotte, Olsen was asked if he could see a route back to covering the biggest NFL games on FOX due to the size of Brady's deal.
"Yeah I hope so," Olsen said.
"I'll be honest, it's hard sitting at home on the couch watching the games.
"You're sitting there, and you're living and dying with every broadcast.
You're sitting there and dissecting everything that's said and done.
I've been very honest.
My goal getting into this was to not just call regional 1 o'clock games and just be happy to be there.
I've called the highest games, we've called some of the biggest games in NFL history, biggest audiences in NFL history, Super Bowls.
"To not do it anymore is hard.
It's not ideal, but wherever it is, whatever network it's on, whatever opportunity is there, my goal is still to just continue to show I'm as good if not better than anybody in this industry.
I just need a chair." Brady's coverage has been called into question this season, as, although he's the greatest player to ever step foot in the NFL, fans aren't convinced he's the best broadcaster.
Brady's media career is still premature, but fans aren't just calling for his removal, the majority want to see Olsen reinstated.
During the NFC Championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders, a game Olsen would have called before Brady arrived, the seven-time Super Bowl champion annoyed fans.
As officials began to interrupt the flow of the game, Brady said: "I do like the ability in the playoffs, I always felt this as a player: Let the players play.
"Let them go out there, be physical.
I'm not saying with something egregious, but I don't love seeing the refs factor into too many games.
I want to see the players on the field get the decision in why they advance or not." Fans instantly pounced on Brady's comments when turning to social media, calling out the legendary quarterback for relying on decisions throughout his career.
It's not the first time this season Brady has faced backlash, as he was slammed for using a controversial slur when describing Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in October 2024.
Brady has also clashed with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, leading to an uncomfortable atmosphere within his former franchise.
Olsen remains under contract with FOX, but unless things change, it's expected he will head somewhere he feels appreciated..
