Vanden boys basketball can't keep pace against Clovis North

FAIRFIELD The Vanden High School boys basketball team lost a showcase matchup Saturday against Clovis North, 69-47, at Contra Costa College in an event called the "Crush of the Valley." James Carraway led the Vikings with 16 points.

Chriseanie Nealy had 10 points and Isiah Dixon scored nine.

Head coach Micheal Holloway felt his team might have had tired legs after playing Rodriguez the previous day.

"It was tough to bounce back after an emotional game against an unorthodox team within just a matter of hours," Holloway said.

"We were in it for a while, but got tired and a little sluggish." Clovis North led 18-9 after the first quarter and made it 39-14 at halftime.

Vanden was outscored 30-23 in the second half..
