The Washington Commanders are the biggest feel-good story in the 2025 playoffs - though not everyone is relishing their success .

Fresh off an underwhelming 4-13 season in 2023, the Commanders underwent a complete rebuild over the offseason by bringing in a new general manager (Adam Peters), head coach (Dan Quinn) and quarterback ( Jayden Daniels ).

The flurry of moves kicked off a miraculous turnaround, with Washington finishing 12-5 in the regular season and punching their ticket to the NFC Championship Game following wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions .

As Washingtons long-awaited return to NFL prominence continues to take shape, former owner Dan Snyder is less than thrilled to see his old team excel.

In fact, the billionaire hates it.

According to ESPNs Don Van Natta Jr.

and Seth Wickersham , Snyder expressed resentment towards the Commanders while enjoying a dinner with associates in London.

When asked how he feels about Washingtons recent success, one of the meals attendees recalled: "He ------- hates it." During Snyders time as owner from 1999 to 2023, Washington boasted just six postseason appearances and failed to win a playoff game for the final 18 years of his tenure.

Yet the Commanders were even more of a disheveled mess off the field, generating no shortage of bitter scandals and unflattering reports over the years.

On more than one occasion, Snyder was accused of fostering a hostile and toxic workplace environment where allegations of sexual harassment and workplace discrimination arose.

In July of 2021, Washington was fined $10 million after an NFLs investigation exposed a "highly unprofessional workplace culture.

A separate inspection performed by the House Oversight and Reform Committee additionally discovered that the league and Commanders both took measures to cover up sexual misconduct thatd taken place inside the organization for several decades.

Despite trying to hold onto his team until the bitter end, Snyder was ultimately pressured into selling the Commanders for $6.05 billion in July of 2023 to a new ownership group organized by Josh Harris and his Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment.

Once the sale was finalized, the NFL hit Snyder with another $60 million fine after an independent investigation found that he sexually harassed a team employee and created an inappropriate work environment.

The examination also uncovered that the Commanders withheld revenue from the league.

Addressing the NFLs hefty fine, Snyder reportedly told confidants, "There's no way I'm paying." Had the 60-year-old gotten his way, the deal wouldve never even gone through.

In a last-ditch effort to keep the Commanders, Snyder considered blaming many of his past mistakes on drinking and announcing that hed gone sober years prior, per ESPN.

Snyder then nearly squashed the sale upon refusing to provide his bank information that Harris needed in order to wire him the $6.05 billion.

Following a tense standoff, however, he eventually relented.
