MICHAEL Strahan was told that it's "not the time" for his remarks about the Detroit Lions.

The comment came despite Strahan being part of Fox's coverage of the Lions against the Washington Commanders.

Detroit fell to a shock defeat by the Commanders in the division round of the playoffs.

The Lions were the No.

1 seed and won 15 of their 17 regular-season games.

But they were beaten 45-31 by the Commanders at Ford Field on Saturday night.

The shock NFC result was shown live across the nation on Fox.

"Washington went out there and played a great game," he said on Fox's post-game coverage.

"But for Detroit, I mean what a great season they had.

"They should be proud of their season and this is why; they had so many injuries on that team, especially defensively, and they still made it this far.
