NFL broadcaster Erin Andrews has hailed Washington Commanders star Jayden Daniels following his truly memorable weekend.

The Commanders defied the odds to defeat the Detroit Lions in the NFC divisional round on Saturday (January 18).

With Dan Quinn's team considered major underdogs heading into the game, they ventured into hostile territory at Ford Field and emerged with a stunning 45-31 victory .

Commanders quarterback Daniels continued to put up figures that could secure him Rookie of the Year against the Lions, who are the No.

1 team in the NFC.

The young star completed 71% of his passes for 299 yards, two touchdowns, and zero turnovers, along with 16 carries for 51 yards, which led Andrews to eulogize over the 24-year-old.

Following his heroics, Andrews posted a video of her pregame interview with Daniels, writing "a star is born" underneath.

She also included a star emoji to really send home the message.

With Daniels now firmly leading the way, Washington heads to the NFC Championship game for the first time 34 years.

FOX Sports star Andrews, who kept fans in the know from the sidelines during the thrilling win over the Lions, spoke to Daniels after proceedings on the field.

While chatting to Daniels, the 42-year-old commended his enviable ability to stay calm under pressure.

She also asked Washington's No.

2 overall pick from the 2024 NFL draft if he's had a chance to reflect on his breakout season before making his divisional playoff debut.

"Not at all.

Not yet," Daniels said.

"We still have some business to handle." Speaking to reporters after the game in Detroit, the QB also revealed that he did not let talk of his side being underdogs get to him ahead of kick-off.

"I always believe," he added.

"I always believe that we could achieve more than what people give us credit for, but you gotta go out there putting in work, you gotta go out there and work daily, get better each and every day.

Just put your head down and grind, and by the time of the season, you look up and you might be in a position like this." Daniels will certainly take Andrews' comments as a compliment, owed to her extensive experience in sports broadcasting.

She first rose to prominence during her time with ESPN between 2004 and 2012, covering a range of sports, including hockey, baseball and college football.

Her move to FOX Sports in 2012 saw her serve as a reporter at major sporting spectacles, including the MLB All-Star Game and the NFL Playoffs, alongside the World Series and the Daytona 500.

Since 2016, she has exclusively formed part of the network's NFL reporting crew.

Andrews is now said to earn a stunning $2million per year from FOX for her role as an NFL sideline reporter.

Having had a successful career as a journalist, including a stint on 'Dancing with the Stars,' she is now said to possess a net worth of $20million.

Next up for Daniels and the Commanders, meanwhile, is the divisional showdown on Sunday (January 26) against the Philadelphia Eagles, after they beat Los Angeles Rams 28-22 on Sunday evening to set up the huge clash..
