The best national title transitive property claims after Ohio State's victory

Ohio State is your 2024 college football national champion after defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 34-23, on Monday night.
The Buckeyes' path to their first championship since the inaugural College Football Playoff in 2014-15 included impressive victories over Tennessee, Big Ten-champion Oregon and SEC-runner-up Texas before reaching Atlanta for the final.
Despite the playoff's intended purpose of crowning an undisputed national champion, those on the internet will always concoct convoluted reasons as to why another team is more deserving.
One of those reasons is the infamous transitive property, when a non-undefeated champion sees its title claimed by a team that beat them in the regular season but did not make it to the title game itself.
This year, Ohio State lost to arch-rival Michigan for the fourth straight season which has led to Wolverine fans claiming this trophy is actually theirs to hoist for back-to-back years.
Of course, that's nonsense (and mostly tongue-in-cheek) but it's still entertaining to see the other stretches of logic fans are making to crown their own teams champions.
In another example, the Washington Post's Ella Brockway took the transitive property to the extreme and detailed how by several steps the 4-8 Northwestern Wildcats are this year's national champions.
Ohio State lost to Michigan Michigan lost to Indiana Indiana lost to Notre Dame Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois Northern Illinois lost to Miami (Ohio) Miami (Ohio) lost to Northwestern In short: Congrats to Northwestern (4-8) on another transitive-property national title There's even an entire website where one could go down a rabbit hole of possibilities and find alternate champions to crown instead.
One fan even went so far as to determine how another team from Ohio, the Akron Zips (4-8), can claim the title through six levels of who-beat-who logic.

Another season may be over but we'll always have the "what ifs" and the "would've, could've, should've" scenarios to talk about for months until August rolls back around and we'll do this all over again..
